Snuggzy Privacy Policy

Effective: October 13, 2026. Publisher: KScribble Enterprises LLC.

Snuggzy is a pet medication and care tracker. This policy says what the app stores, where, and who can see it. Keith Gibson (KScribble Enterprises LLC) is the data controller; contact: support@snuggzycare.com.

What the app stores on your phone

Pets, medications and dose schedules, dose history, health notes and clinical photos, vaccinations, appointments, grooming preferences, your household name, address and phone, sitter instructions and today's care note, pet photos, and your settings. All of it lives in the app's private storage on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you turn on family or sitter sync, publish a live lost-pet page, or save a product you scanned by its barcode (see Shared product barcodes below).

Family and sitter sync (optional, Snuggzy Family and Snuggzy Premium)

When you invite a family member, sitter or walker, the app signs in anonymously to Google Firebase and mirrors the household name, address and phone, the pets (names, breed, feeding, cautions, vet contacts), the medication schedules, the sitter instructions and today's care note to a Firestore document that only you and the people you invited can read. Caregivers give a display name when they join (and may add a mobile number so you can call or text them). Their dose marks, walks (including a GPS route when they allow location), feeding logs, notes and, with Snuggzy Premium, photos are stored in the same household record. Ending access or stopping sharing removes their access at once; photos are deleted after 30 days.

Firebase is operated by Google LLC under its own privacy terms. Snuggzy uses Firebase Authentication (anonymous), Cloud Firestore and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports on release builds only, with no personal data).

Live lost-pet recovery page (optional)

When your pet is missing you can choose to publish a recovery page at snuggzycare.com. It is public to anyone with its link (the QR code on your flyer) but unlisted and not indexed by search engines. It holds only what you chose to share on the alert: your pet's name, photo, description, distinguishing marks, health warnings, the last-seen location exactly as you typed it, the reward, your household name and your phone number. It never includes your pet's microchip number. Marking your pet found removes your phone number at once; the page stops showing 30 days after you publish it (7 days on Snuggzy Solo; Family and Premium can extend it) and is then deleted from Cloud Firestore. You can take it down at any time from the lost-pet alert screen.

Vet clinic lookup (optional)

When you tap Find beside a vet or ER clinic name, Snuggzy sends the clinic name you typed and your household's town and state to OpenStreetMap's public search service (Nominatim, run by the OpenStreetMap Foundation) to look up the clinic's address and phone. Nothing else is sent, and nothing is sent unless you tap Find.

Shared product barcodes

When you save a pet food bag or a flea, tick or heartworm product that you scanned by its barcode, Snuggzy shares the barcode number and the product name you confirmed (for example "Hill's Science Diet Adult Chicken & Barley Recipe") with the Snuggzy product catalog in Cloud Firestore, under an anonymous ID. The next person who scans the same barcode gets that name. Nothing else is shared: no pet, household, location or contact details.

Location

Location is used only while a caregiver runs a walk, to draw the route for the owner; it keeps recording if the phone is locked or another app is opened during the walk, and stops when the walk ends. It is requested when the first walk starts, never at install, and the app does not track location at any other time.

Camera and photos

The camera is used to scan medication labels and flea & tick boxes, to read invite QR codes, to attach a photo to a health note, and (Snuggzy Premium) to send a walk or meal photo to the owner. Images you take for a pet profile or a health note stay on your phone.

Subscriptions

Snuggzy Solo is free. Snuggzy Family and Snuggzy Premium are sold through Google Play. Google handles payment; Snuggzy receives only whether a subscription is active and which plan it is.

Ads and sponsored links

On Snuggzy Solo a small banner ad from Google AdMob shows on the home screen, a pet's page and the care calendar, and a short sponsor video can unlock a sitter fridge sheet (and, once the scanning beta ends, a label or document scan). AdMob may use your device's advertising ID under Google's privacy terms; in some regions you are asked for consent first and can change it in Settings. Ads never appear on the emergency, lost-pet, dose or medication screens, and the vet report is never behind an ad. Snuggzy Family and Premium show no ads. The Solo plan also shows discreet links to pet supply retailers. Tapping one opens your browser; Snuggzy does not pass any personal data to those sites.

Your choices

Export everything from Settings > Backup & restore, or delete your account and all household data from Settings > Delete account & household data (menu at the top right, then Settings). Uninstalling the app deletes its local data. To delete a shared household from Firebase, stop sharing from the invite sheet. For anything else, email the address above.

Children

Snuggzy is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

Updates to this policy are published at snuggzycare.com/privacy and bundled with the app.
